Nick is one of the founding partners of Squarebird, starting the business with brother Jon in 2015.

Nick would be considered a modern-day digital native; immersed in all things digital since starting his career within the BMW Group. After a successful stint working with multiple prestigious automotive brands including Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati, Nick later went on to hold the role of Marketing Manager for one of the UK’s largest automotive part manufacturers.

Since Squarebird’s inception, Nick has overseen and consulted on the design and build of websites big and small, from start-ups through to global, FTSE listed enterprises. With Squarebird’s website numbers now in the multiples of hundreds, Nick provides a wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding in WordPress website development, from design through to production. He has also assisted in bringing brands to life through informed digital creative and production of marketing assets.

Today, Nick’s role is split between profiling and overseeing new projects, along with the day-to-day management of all things Squarebird. Outside of the office, you’ll catch Nick being dragged along by his over-enthusiastic Labrador Gus, socialising with friends and family, and attempting to get better at various sporting activities including football, golf and fishing.

A founding partner of Squarebird, Jon leads on our future growth plans and people development as part of his responsibilities in overseeing strategy, HR and finance. 

Throughout Squarebird’s first 5 years, Jon delivered more than 200 web development, marketing and search optimisation projects for FTSE-listed tech and consulting firms, local authorities, SMEs and ambitious start-ups.  Today, he is primarily responsible for implementing our strategic plans, developing organisational structure and recruitment, as well as learning and development.

Before Squarebird, he found his passion for digital marketing within a professional services organisation, often buying from agencies and experiencing the good and bad that was on offer, learning a future benchmark for high quality and what’s required to exceed client expectations; a key foundation to Squarebird’s approach and success thus far.

Following the delivery of successful web projects in his previous role, Jon was awarded a scholarship from Cardiff University to study on the Executive MBA course among a cohort of senior business leaders. He graduated from Cardiff Business School in 2017, completing research into digital agency growth, while refining his ability to apply strategic thinking and the breadth of the MBA to Squarebird’s deliverables and future ambitions.

When he’s not working, you’ll find him spending time with his young family, cycling, running, motorcycling, playing sports with friends or undertaking some kind of unspeakable triathlon!

Heather manages projects, having started in copywriting, bringing a mix of practical and creative solutions to the many various activities and clients at Squarebird – always with a smile!

After graduating Lancaster University in July 2019, Heather was keen to get involved in marketing and help businesses with their online presence. She enjoys getting to know individual businesses and learning in depth about a wide array of sectors and services.

Heather is a certified Prince2 Practitioner and utilises these learnt methodologies to drive Squarebird’s project management processes.

When not in the office, you’ll find Heather socialising with friends over a glass of wine, obsessively clocking up 10,000 steps a day, or planning her next weekend adventure.

Dan joined the Squarebird family as Head of Design bringing over 14 years industry design experience to the team.

Having spent the majority of his career agency-side, Dan has had the opportunity to work across a broad range of industries worldwide in both B2B and B2C. He has held strategic design leadership roles at agencies in New York City, London, Manchester and Bristol – helping global brands to optimise their customer experience through strategic use of design.

In his most recent role, Dan directed design strategy in-house at national UK tech company Uswitch. This included optimising the brand strategy, visual identity, product design, UI design and path-to-purchase for millions of UK customers.

A champion of great design, aesthetic beauty, and attention to detail, Dan’s approach to design grounds all decision-making in strategy that balances customer centricity with business objectives.

Outside of work you’ll find Dan unashamedly obsessing over craft coffee, photographing street art, and mixing good-vibes dance music from around the world.

Tim is the lead website developer at Squarebird.

After training as a vehicle technician for the Volkswagen Group for more than 6 years, Tim decided to make a change in his career and pursue his hobby of building websites. Impressed with his tenacity and exciting range of self-taught digital skills, Squarebird offered Tim an Advanced Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing which he completed in early 2018.

Tim has also completed a level 3 qualification in Website Design and Development with Stonebridge College in his personal time and plans to continue gaining website coding related qualifications in the future.

When he’s not working, you can find him in the kitchen cremating a Lasagne, cycling around Bristol, rowing down the harbour or fixing up his 91 Mini Cooper.

Pete joined Squarebird as an account handler with over 20 years of career experience at agencies spanning market research, email marketing, field marketing, creative services, and digital marketing.

Pete has experience handling projects involving graphic and digital design, photography, videography and animation, copywriting, thought leadership, social media campaigns, UX, branding, and more. He is known for his excellent attention to detail and for building collaborative relationships with clients.

Pete has enjoyed working with a fantastic range of clients in his career including Panasonic, Epson, Samsung, Korbond, JML, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros.

Outside of work, Pete is a dedicated father, film buff, and music fan. He enjoys cycling, drinking craft beer or ale with friends, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

Sam joins the Squarebird team with over a decade of professional experience in content, coordination, and leadership roles, particularly within the technical support and app development industries.

Throughout his career, Sam has worked with renowned global brands including Samsung, Costco, John Lewis and Tesco, where he played a key role in delivering impactful projects.

With a foundation in project coordination, team management and content creation, Sam has developed a well rounded skill set for managing projects.

When he’s not busy managing projects, Sam channels his creativity into making music and learning to play new instruments. He’s also an avid sports fan, with a particular love for F1 and Football.

Will started Squarebird as an SEO and PPC Executive crafting bespoke content strategies and advertising campaign plans for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries.

Will’s role then grew to Projects Executive, helping to facilitate the management of website, SEO, and PPC projects within Squarebird.

Passionate about helping businesses grow, he previously freelanced, working with clients in education and ecommerce. Will is dedicated to helping businesses of all sizes improve their organic positions and authority by building meaningful connections with their audience.

Outside of the office you’ll find Will listening to music, or the Harry Potter audio books, watching films or planning his next road trip adventure.

Izobel is our digital marketing manager at Squarebird.

Izobel looks after our ongoing retainer accounts, helping them to develop and maintain their digital portfolio. Her usual day see’s her designing a new email marketing campaign, posting on social media, creating paid social strategies and ensuring all clients websites’ are up to date.

Having completed her degree at University of the West of England in Marketing, Izobel found a fascination in the concept of communications, its trends, power within branding, and how it creates cultural shifts.

When not in the office, you’ll find Izobel reading a book, spinning, buying crystals or heading to the beach for some water zen!

Ellie is Squarebird’s Digital Marketing Executive.

Since completing a degree in Fashion Marketing at Falmouth University, Ellie has worked within the B2B and Charity sectors, both readying her for the exciting variety of Squarebird’s clients.

Ellie looks after our retainer clients, creating and scheduling social media content, developing paid ad campaigns, and ensuring their websites are all up to date.

In her spare time, Ellie can often be found working her way around the bakeries of Bristol, sipping an oat milk hot chocolate, and trying all the delicious treats on offer. She also loves going to gigs or the cinema, and anything crafty and creative!

Immy is Squarebird’s Projects and Marketing Executive.

Since finishing her A Levels at Gordano School, Immy has completed a Level 4 Procurement Apprenticeship at a not-for-profit organisation working with businesses in the private and public sector, widening her knowledge of the differing business sectors.

Immy is keen to get involved in helping businesses with their marketing and online presence, whether that’s building or improving it. She enjoys learning about businesses and the differing industries.

Immy supports the projects team at Squarebird alongside retainer clients with their social media and campaigns.

In her spare time, Immy can often be found on holiday, buying clothes, or tumbling at cheerleading. She also loves reading a book, and spending time with her two family goldendoodles: Murphie & Paddy.

Jamie is a website developer at Squarebird.

Jamie is a self-taught coding enthusiast who loves creating his own computer games. Jamie has worked on several major projects previously, including coding a custom registration software for a local school, and creating an online platform for schools across Europe to share teaching ideas and information.

Jamie joined Squarebird in 2019 to finally pursue a career in coding and further his knowledge in the development of websites.

Outside of work, Jamie is always close to a screen, whether he’s playing video games with friends, or experimenting with code.

With over 15 years experience as a front and backend developer, Kirstin has worked for some of the most recognisable Web and e-commerce companies around the world.

When not networking on coding pixel perfect designs and complex developments, he can be found taking long walks with his two dogs and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

Jay is a website developer at Squarebird.

With just over 15 years of experience in the Geospatial industry in varying capacities, Jay took the decision to change his career path to pursue his passion for creating websites.

Jay has built numerous websites over the years ranging from classic portfolio sites for small and local businesses, to full e-commerce stores for national corporations. He is eager to further his knowledge in web development and to bolster his skills wherever possible.

Outside of work, you’ll find Jay relaxing with his family, spending time with friends, watching football and a bit of gaming when time permits!

Following the completion of his studies of Information Technology Management for Business at University in Bristol, Sam went on to work as a business associate for Hargreaves Lansdown. Eager to further his coding skills and website development knowledge, he joined the development team at Squarebird in 2021.

Since beginning at Squarebird, Sam has rapidly developed his knowledge and delivered a range of website for growing businesses.

Outside of work Sam loves to be involved in football whether it is playing himself or coaching the younger generation at his local club.

Sam’s journey started in 2020 where he found that he had more time than he knew what to do with (down to a little thing beginning with C…) and transitioned his passion of graphic design into crafting fluid and exciting websites.

After completing several online courses and building up a solid portfolio, Sam landed his first job as a web developer for JD Sports in 2021. He has since continued learning and is constantly on the lookout for the next coding language or framework to add to his arsenal.

Outside of work, Sam can be found gracefully doing martial arts, playing hockey, or walking his sausage dog Beryl.

After graduating from University with a degree in Graphic Communication and having originally focused on User Experience in his studies, Sam wanted to take his skillset further by creating beautiful visual experiences in the form of bespoke websites and experimental visuals through his own self-taught skills. Eager to learn more, Sam joined the Squarebird team in 2023 to further his skills in web development!

When Sam isn’t writing code, in his free time he can be found playing online games with friends, exploring the great outdoors on his e-bike, looking for his next music gig or volunteering for his local community.

Blake is a graphic designer at Squarebird.

Blake joined Squarebird following his degree in Graphic Design at University, bringing a wealth of design and illustrating talent. A keen freehand artist since childhood, Blake has now developed a special interest in printed and digital media.

With a passion for the fresh and new, Blake enjoys keeping track of current trends. Left to his own devices, however, he favours line illustration in a couple of bold colours.

Outside the office, Blake can be found cooking up a storm, exploring coastlines, or photographing stunning landscapes.

Hope is our graphic designer and keen illustrator at Squarebird.

There’s not a moment in her life that she hasn’t been enveloped in creative endeavours, exploring all kinds of areas including acrylic painting, clay, resin, and of course digital design reigning supreme. She finds inspiration in clean, flat, vector-style design and is always writing down 3am ideas for clever copy for campaigns.

Hope joined us after completing a degree in Graphic Communication at University of South Wales in which she found a love for interactive design and curated her own recognisable illustrative style. During this time, she also was awarded a D&AD New Blood Pencil for her work on a brief for Duolingo encouraging people to do their daily lesson.

When not playing around with pixel perfection, you can find her with her head in a horror novel, playing video games and curating Spotify playlists. She is also not short of pattern or colour in her wardrobe and has a shoe collection that puts Elton John to shame.

Rhiann is a Graphic Designer and Artworker at Squarebird

After gaining a degree in Graphic Design Rhiann worked in-house at various universities in Boston and Philadelphia before making the trip across the pond to continue her work in higher education in London. After settling in Bristol she worked in the events sector before setting up her own business, and is now thrilled to be a part of the team at Squarebird.

Rhiann considers herself a jack of all design trades with a bit of a penchant for editorial and print design.

Outside of work Rhiann can be found trying new recipes she’s found on instagram, out and about on a very slow run, or curled up with her cat on the couch.

Stephen is our Junior Graphic Designer at Squarebird.

After finishing a degree in graphic design, Stephen went on to work within the consumer marketing sector. He has experience delivering at a high-level for well-known brands in the B2C and B2B sector, such as Pets at Home, GWR and RBL.

Stephen’s knowledge expands across the full Adobe creative suite, with a focus on digital marketing, print, UI/UX design, illustration and animation.

Outside of the office you’ll find Stephen binging a new series on Netflix, going out with friends or hitting the gym!

Ryan is a SEO & PPC manager at Squarebird.

He is responsible for implementing a comprehensive range of trusted SEO & PPC services to organisations in all types of industries. From mechanical and engineering firms to IT companies, logistics providers, mortgage brokers and everything in-between, Ryan has experience in a vast number of sectors.

Ryan specialises in producing SEO audits for websites large and small, helping businesses understand how they can build upon and improve their organic search presence.

Outside of the office you’ll more than likely find Ryan either on the football pitch or spending time with his family and friends.

Neda is an accomplished SEO manager, having worked with a diverse range of companies and as a freelancer. She specialises in SEO, PPC and Mobile Application Marketing utilising ASO.

She has successfully managed websites for various industries, from small start-ups to large enterprises, in both B2B and B2C sectors, leveraging analytical skills and experience to employ the best tools.

Her expertise lies in boosting online visibility and improving search rankings, helping businesses enhance their digital presence and attract more customers.

Outside of work, Neda enjoys listening to business podcasts, doing yoga, and watching comedy series.

Jacob is our Executive Copywriter at Squarebird.

Jacob creates innovative copy for brands and websites, ensuring a tailored digital presence for clients through his focus on tone of voice and messaging. His daily activities include website project work, SEO blogs, content optimisation, and case studies – working closely with the team to portray the journey each project takes.

Jacob graduated from Solent University with a degree in English and Creative Writing. After taking some time to pursue his initial goal of writing a fantasy novel, his attention turned to copywriting. Since then, his creative skills have been put to use in crafting bespoke digital content with SEO in mind.

In his time at home, Jacob can be found reading, playing online games, writing his next novel, or kicking back with some biscuits and a (relaxing?) bottle of hot chilli sauce.

Vicky began her career at the age of 16 with NatWest Bank, where she gained valuable experience over five years before embarking on international travels to the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Australia, and Indonesia.

Following her travels, she settled in Bristol and worked in Customer Services at Wessex Water for 15 years. During this time, she honed her skills in customer service, administration, and communication.

Currently, Vicky is enjoying her role as Agency Administrator at Squarebird, where she keeps the office organised, meets and greets clients, and supports a wide range of business administration processes.

In her personal life, Vicky cherishes spending time with her large, extended family. She is also devoted to her dog, Maggie, who is her favourite thing on the planet! Vicky also loves socialising, often with a few glasses of wine and dinner with friends!

After over 40 years of working in Payroll Management at Bristol City Council, part-time-retired Alan (and proud Dad of Nick and Jon) supports Squarebird with all things facilities, keeping the office running smoothly!

Outside of work, you will find Alan enjoying time with his family, wielding his stand-up paddle board, cycling, chasing his grandsons and keeping his car and motorcycle in tip-top condition!

Dan is our videographer and photographer, who creates tailored, engaging content to meet our clients’ most challenging needs. From run-and-gun shooting to captivating motion graphics, Dan captures the best of businesses, services and people.

Travelling nationally for professional video production, Dan has been instrumental in building our impressive portfolio of projects: from TV commercials, documentary film work, brand storytelling and much more.

He leads on our full production services, from initial idea through to finished video, as well as his creative consultancy service, making up the total package.

Whether our clients need natural shots of employees in the workplace, or to convey their company’s message in a vibrant video, Dan’s friendly demeanour puts even the most camera shy at ease. His attention to detail, vast experience with industry leading brands, and easy-to-work-with attitude makes him a vital asset to all project visuals.
