A local Bristol business, we first came into contact with the financial experts at Gunner & Co. when their Commercial Director Nick Bird reached out to our Managing Partner Nick Bird (no, that wasn’t a typo!) looking for a digital change.
This bloomed into discussions on how to improve their website – the one they had worked fine, but it didn’t exactly fit who they’d grown to be.

We found their merger and acquisition specialism fascinating, and quickly moved from discussions to action. Working predominately with their project team, we looked at ways to:
- Refine their image
- Make their website visually enticing
- Show them as the capable and competent professionals they are
- Embody their values of relationship building, knowledge sharing, delivering value, and unique approaches
- Demonstrate their sensitive, sympathetic, and trustworthy tone
- Appeal to both sellers and buyers
- Show off their dedicated and experienced people
Defining and delivering.
Two main aspects of delivery were our focus in the initial stages: design and content.
They said their logo was staying, and that’s about it – there was no need for anything else, with their gorgeous font, deep burgundy colouring, and powerful shield motif.
Everything else was up for grabs. Our designer took the themes and ran with them, creating a stunning end look with the quality of a financial publication – a nod to their high-volume, quality content.
Subtle elements helped bring a quiet sense of completeness to the website, and the deep colour palate inspiring themes of wealth and royalty worked with this to provide visuals that perfectly complement their truly professional services.
As they already had a large stock of excellent content, our work around it was mainly based on the user experience.
We expanded the styling from the designs, providing:
- An author section, making names heard and faces shown
- Webinars with simple to understand copy and clear calls to action, making it easy to edit on the backend and intuitive for users to navigate
- A basic filter with accompanying icons so they could really show their plumage with simple-yet-striking visuals
We focused in on improving the user journey, minimising distractions and showcasing their USPs, all backed with clear steps for them to follow.

Our interactions with Gunner & Co. extended beyond design, content, and even digital, as we moved on to producing video and physical assets too.
These aspects came in the form of an engaging company video implemented on the homepage with the notable sliding animation, edited for use at exhibitions and featuring key stats and testimonials. Physical assets like an exhibition stand design and infographics applied their new online styling to the real-world.
A professional website with a novel look, simple backend functionality, and a super intuitive journey for their clients. We were delighted to work on this project, alongside our continued collaborations, including SEO – optimising their content and digital presence to feed their overarching marketing strategy.
