Squarebird Managing Partner Competes in the London Marathon to Raise Money for Southmead Hospital Charity

This year, we’re super proud to announce that our Managing Partner Jon Bird is putting himself to the test in memory of his uncle Dave and his many inspirational friends who work at Southmead Hospital. He’ll be taking on the London Marathon to raise money for Southmead Hospital Charity and the essential, indispensable work they do supporting care delivery in the South West.

Go on, why not show him some support? He’s going to need it!

The Cause

Every day and night, thousands of people all over the South West need urgent medical attention. With the help of Southmead Hospital Charity, our inspirational care workers can be there for all of us. It’s a cause worth running for!

Southmead Hospital Charity supports the delivery of professional care across 5 core areas of funding: ground-breaking research, patient and family wellbeing, staff wellbeing and training, cutting-edge equipment, and enhancing buildings and spaces.

The NHS is a constant in our lives, helping us navigate through personal struggles and global health challenges. It’s time to say thanks, fuel the continued delivery of exceptional standards of care, and support the inspirational people behind our hospitals.

The Challenge

So, what has our very own Jon Bird got in store for himself?

The London Marathon is a 26.2 mile run and the first marathon Jon has ever taken part in (if you don’t count the sneaky marathon hidden in the IRONMAN). The famous event has kept to largely the same route throughout its existence.

Runners begin in Blackheath, passing the iconic Cutty Sark and the Shard before crossing Tower Bridge and passing through Canary Wharf. The route continues along the river, passing the London Eye, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament. Buckingham Palace and the Mall mark the grand finale.

Show Your Support

If you want to support our Managing Partner as he takes on this challenge, why not donate to a fantastic cause? For now, all that’s left to say is good luck Jon and see you on the other side!
